Visit historic CAFÉ “KIPOS”

Situated at Chania Municipal Garden, it is a very pleasant break when shopping or walking in town!

The historic KIPOS CAFÉ operating continuously since 1870, has been a major point of interest in the heart of Chania city, attracting people of culture and art and having served as the first Parliament of the Cretan State (9/12/1898).

Expect from maintaining a permanent exhibition of historic photography, it now becomes the Basis of the European Historic Cafe Association with trademark the huge clock of the municipal garden.

Association has been established in Chania in April 8th, in a ceremony where owners of the most historic cafes in Europe had been participating. These Cafes mostly come from Austria, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Portugal, Holland and other countries. Target of this association is the promotion of civilization, history, products, create a communication network of gastronomy and café funs who will desire to visit each spot of all historic cafes in Europe.
